Yes, that WAS short notice, and for what was, in my oipinion, a rather lame excuse. I wouldn't have been happy either if I were you.

ok lets just answer a few quetions here.first the blacksmiths gig is a mini festival outside the pub in the grounds three bands inc demon this means just over three pounds for each band an absolute bargain in my eyes if rainer would like to come to this gig i will personally make sure he gets in free of charge and is supplied with good old british beer all nite and a signed copy of the new album when its released.on the subject of the cancelled leek gig there was a genuine reason for us not doing it we went into the studio weeks before minus andy dale our long term bass player for reasons i dont want to go into meaning two things 1 we cancel the studio or 2 find a bass player who is good enough to learn and record 20 original demon songs .we luckily got paul fasker johnson who did an amazing job on the new tracks however as anyone knows sessions have a habit of running over meaning he had to also learn 15 to 20 old demon songs in a space of two weeks and add the fact that demon songs arent 12 bar blues this was a tall order we arent rehearsing everyday we all have jobs.so after much deliberation we decided to cancel the leek gig we could have played 30 minutes set but this is not what we wanted so giles as a musician you must surely see this is not a LAME excuse and something we dont take lightly this is the first demon gig we have cancelled in my 8 years with the band we played germany hoa festival where it took the band twelve hours to get to the gig because of plane delays we arrived an hour before we played we did an hour set then went to the hotel for two hours to travel back home we love the band and need everyone of you demonites to come out and support us this year we have seen the loss of dio gary moore phil kennemore of y and t to name but a few we arent goin to gig forever and without the leader mr hill we are not a band so instead of moaning all the time please get your self to as many gigs as you can. hope this clears up the situation thanks neil

Thanks for all that information Neil, it is very appreciated - it helps the fans feel appreciated, and helps the fans understand, rather than be confused - which can lead to resentment and frustration. Hopefully I will see you there and have a chat again - and a beer!?

Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

Thank you very much Neil for the first personal excuse for the cancelling. In fact a cheap flight is not to find for the September gig, so I hope you will come to Germany sometimes for drinking a lot of Good German beer together......looking forward to the new album, I can write you my adress if you want....

Stay heavy,

Hi rainer its a shame you cant attend the gig you can contact me through facebook if you like and im sure we will be gigging in germany next year.It would be great to hook up and have a few beers. The blacksmiths arms gig is an early one due to the close proximety of neighbours so it starts at around 5.30 and demon are on stage about 8.30 tickets are available and i think you can pay on the door but it is limited bacause of the size of the gig,so a ticket is allways the best way Hope this helps thanks neil

Nice posts Neil matey, true fans appreciate that problems happen in the music industry and things dont always run as you would like them too,Giles Im starting to get fed up with all this negativity chill its not all doom and gloom you have good health be thankful for that many dont and never complain. and as for demon fans being appreciated Personally I think weve done very well over the years Demon are unique in thier interaction with the fans and the way in which fans are seen as friends not just another paycheck unlike some performers I could name, also we get a cheap deal on gigs especially for the level of professionalism we get what weve payed for Demon gigs many performers charge lots more for gigs many of them not as well know as Demon.

As for the leek gig these things happen Im afraid you cannot blame Demon for things beyond thier control, in my opinion a true fan would appreciate the difficulties faced.

Rainer its a shame I didnt think about it at the time you could have still come over here and stayed with us here in kidsgrove,I would have taken you round the city with a visit to neils shop and leek village Ah well they'll be other opportunities I guess maybe myself and Gill will visit you some day matey

Well said Neil. The cancellation of the Leek gig was sad, but it would have been much sadder had Demon played, at that time.

Unfortunately, I will not be able to attend on Sat, as it is impossible for me to get there and back (it is across the border, don't you know!). Hope it all goes swimmingly on for you guys.

GOUDG, I'm not suer what you mean - what negativity? It was Rainer that was grumbling about the extremely short notice, and when Neil explained what had happened, I understood. I'm not sure what you are getting at - please explain if you would. If you are referring to the cancelled gigs in the past that I mentioned in 'my Demon journey', I was not complaining about the band, I was just saying what happened in 'my story', that's all. It all has nothing to do with appreciating my health - that's a very silly thing to mention.

Hi Mike

anyway the site is not designed for bickering

No, it's intended for discussion and the provision of information relating to the band - the latter of which we were attempting to discuss, ironically.

Great reply Giles.

Could someone tell me why Steve Watts keeps post DDR links and stuff thats not realy anything to do with Demon?

I love his "Stories" and " Rock and Roll" tales - great reading. But what with all thi DDR posts. Seems a bit childish to me.

@ Mike - I was at a demon gig in Workington, Cumbria in the 80's it may have been some HM all day thing - was Demons stint there ever recorded?

Would be nice to see thoes live recordings as downloads.
