Yet, another example of the artwork not reflecting the 'image/message' of the band. If I wore this, people would think I was into satanic death metal or something (which is in fact extremely far removed from what the band has represented for 30 years or so!!!) and so I won't buy it.

This kind of repetitious type of 'error of judgment' has plagued (oops pun not intended) the band for decades in my opinion.

One could, of course, try and read something deeper into the artwork on a theosophical level (as I have mentioned elsewhere), but it is what it is to Joe Bloggs!

IF you want that audience, then beef the music up further, sing agressive and negative lyrics and remove Dave's intellectual capacity - otherwise it ain't gonna work. Either do this, or do the other. THEN, you may get the gigs you would prefer.

I could of course be jumping the gun here, and the new album may well all about that basic crap, but I doubt it......

I think your replies just sum up what's wrong with the 'management' of this band; constructive criticism rejected and made fun of. And then you wonder where it has all gone wrong!

Whoever "designed" that t-shirt was only condoning and perpetuating the well-known and self-confessed notion that the name of the group only serves to confuse the public.

Anyway, why would you do a special run of shitty 'black metal style' t-shirts for a few fans in Cyprus, and only offer the fans that have supported you for 30 years, the same old t-shirt with the first album artwork on the front only and no other options? Again: and then you wonder where it has all gone wrong.

So giles youre saying the simple design i came up with for this shirt which in my mind looks good on stage for dave to wear and gives a nod to the past ie nite of the demon is awfull, and the fact that stefan saleck sane man and loads of other people are stupid for buying it and basically we are all wrong and you are yet again right.Iunderstand that everyones entitled to there opinions it just seems yours are differant to everybody else on most matters relating to demon, secondly what do you mean ..it all went wrong... the band over the last few years have done some of the best gigs of the bands career and have you ever stopped to think the band may be happy to play a few times a year. When the new album is released we will do some t shirts for that, we did a small run for cyprus because weve never played there and rather than turn up with none we would make an effort to do a ltd run .What youre saying about the name has been a bone of contention for many years we all no demon are much more than a metal band but for the 50th time if we are playing in front of metal heads this dictates the set and the type of t shirt we do if we doing a progfest then we would do songs that suit that crowd and a beige t shirt saying i love gong on the front rather than A SHITTY BLACK ONE ...

YES, it reminds me of band like Sabbat or something - is that the image you wish to portray?

and the fact that stefan saleck sane man and loads of other people are stupid for buying it and basically we are all wrong and you are yet again right.

They are not stupid for buying it if they want it, but the design is stupid in the context of what the band are and sound like.

Iunderstand that everyones entitled to there opinions it just seems yours are differant to everybody else on most matters relating to demon,

Really, how many independent reviews of Demon have you read that mention the name and the 'promotion' of the band? How many people do you ask that did like Demon or don't like Demon but have an opinion? How many people here even?

secondly what do you mean ..it all went wrong... the band over the last few years have done some of the best gigs of the bands career

I refer to the constant discussion about not being able to get the better gigs, the financial backing etc.....what do you think I mean???

and have you ever stopped to think the band may be happy to play a few times a year.

Oh Neil, I have I have I have I have I have!!!

Circular reasoning Neil, circular reasoning. You are there because of the t-shirt and the t-shirt is there because of the gig.

Why not just print 'Demon'? Why in a cross?? Can you explain that?

Just one more thing: I notice you seem to have this dichotomy, an 'either/or' of Prog Rock or Metal; has it ever occurred to you that Demon always tended to almost 'naturally' arrive at a blend? There is a market for that blend.

What the hell is your problem Giles Get a life instead of this constant dedication to slagging off Demon at every opportunity, you call yourself a fan yet you just lately do nothing but slate Dave and Co and also as of your posts yesterday Mike who behind the scenes has worked Damn hard for Demon Over the years to get the Gigs for the Band and also promotion work we never get to see behind the scenes.

Apologies for my rant but Im getting sick and tired of the constant negativity towards Dave,Mike and Co and the consistant sarcasm and disrespect given to band members and Now Mike lets keep things friendly and positive on here if you have issues with band members or anyone else keep those issues between yourself and them. were supposed to be here as Demon fans and members of the what I like to call Demon Family lets keep it positive and friendly stop this disrespect if you think of yourself as a fan act in a way beffitting that title

DO I read too much into it, OR does Demon not see that something like this is a symptom of a much wider problem in terms of band promotion?

PROMOTE YOURSELVES! Make the t-shirt fit the band and the sound, so that others won't just pigeon-hole the band just by looking at it on someone else.

I WOULD LOVE TO WEAR a Demon t-shirt that people would not laugh at or get the wrong impression from. I met a guy at a Demon gig once that was disgusted that you had one t-shirt design (first album cover) for sale in a couple of sizes. PROMOTE YOURSELVES instaed of moaning about shit gigs or playing metal festivals only.
