Hi Guys, nothing to do with music, but it is 3.15pm and i am in an explicit high mood: we have just won our handball game against the champion ship favorite by 27:24.
I know that the english are not very intersted in handball, but i am playing it now for 41 years.
We had won our league last year and went to the next higher one where we are of course are newbies (underdogs) and we had the first game in our new built gymansium (sporting arena) today (i made my first steps in this 2-fields arena today).
I am sure its of no interest for you but i am so proud that i need to post the result early this morning, just coming home from our club house (lots of beers and whisky later).
It looked like we wouldnīnt have any chance until minute 55 when we first time got in lead. And finally we kept this lead until the end.
BIG PARTY GUARANTEED!!!!
Wish i could transfer this good luck we had the last 15 month to my favorite demons.
Trying to convince my sport mates to the forthcoming DEMON gig next year at Headbanger Open Air. ITīS A HOME GAME!
Meanwhile i'am listening to my own forthcoming record... (may god... or anyone else help me)

PS: Mike: Space Dog is not a Liar. My hair is long again (...and gray od course after years) and i am still able to wear a leather jacket, but i am afraid it needs a lot more to play a two voiced guitar and all the rest of a complete band on itīs own...
Or as we say in german: too many cooks spoil the pulp
... but thatīs what i try.
Bur today we have just won our game and thatīs what counts!!!
Cheeeeeeers, your Single Malt influenced Space Dog.

Well done indeed!! As long as you have good music great sport, love and beer (but not necessarily in that order) life is good!!

I'm a field hockey player myself - a sport Germany have a great tradition in - and I'm looking forward to a new season with hopefully the same success as you are having!!

I look forward to some updates.... Very Happy

Thanks for your support guys. If you are really interested i will post our fothcoming results. My next mission is to support our second team on saturday cause they have a lack of players due to injuries and private duties, while we are having to play on sunday to win our next two points against the team of my ex-job-mate. Due to our last week game we unfortunately have lost 2 of or most valuable players heavily injured with a knee crossband cut and muscle problems (hope you understand my words). So this game might be difficult...

BTW: I am playing in the 3rd team (same league as our 2cond team, parallel group), but that doesnīt mean we are not successful. It only means that we are a little older then our other teams (our oldest player is 62, but we also have guys at the age of 21). So we have a team built of great experience and young spirit which might be the reason for our "late" success.
Sorry for posting those contributions, but that is what currently moves me ... next to my record release....

PS: my guitar teacher (he is a studied one) said my new song is the best i ever made and it is absolutely brilliant. So, this one is going to be released on my second record (in case i am ever going to relaese my first one). If this may ever take place i am going to inform you but i will also promise, i will promote it through my own web-Site: just give you a short hint about itīs existence, but the Demon-Site will remain the Demon-site and not become another Steve Watts-Giles Site.
Hope you donīt mind my very small input of public relation - never know if this one will really be relevant.

Hello, hello, Giles: i am not touring down the country to promote something that wonīt guarantee me the cheese on my bread. I, am simply working, working as an employee (currently not cause i am fired). But iīam proud of having played with my band where DEMON had played before: Hamburg Markthalle and LOGO (more than once).
If that means i am a loser i think i should be proud to be one (in your eyes....).

First time i saw Demon live was in1989 at the Docks in Hamburg, while i have been a fan since the first record in 1981 when i was 16.
When i saw Dave i said this is GOD.
When they played "Donīt Break The Circle" he asked " Is there Anyone Who Disbelieves" I raised my arm. He came to the stagesī edge and reached me a hand. I was proud like a god...

Years later , in think it was 1991, they played Hamburg Markthalle, i had an on-stage dialog with Demonīs bassplayer and shared a beer with him (live). And during the show there was once more "Donīt Break The Circle" ... "is there anyone who donīt believe?"...

...and Dave shook my hand twice...

.. to be continued...

Thanks for your patience, friends...

Maybe one day i can shake your hands... Kevin, Dave, Neil, Giles ...from above the stage...
...and Maybe you can sing along with me... "Freak in my My Machine"...

I would LOVE somebody to explain to me what I have written that could suggest I want to make this my personal site. I have only made comments to other demon-related posts that others can't be arsed to. If you refer to a video of my band, that should have supported Demon at that time, as part of a 'my journey with Demon' blog, I DO apologise, but I am hardly the only one to mention 'personal' matters now am I?? Has anyone here ever thought for a moment that I just might be simply trying to kill the stupid 'wall of silence' here and open up some kind of discussion with any depth??

Carry on..... Rolling Eyes

Short update:

this afternoon our group leader with 5 won of 5 played games had been our guests at our hometown arena. Meanwhile we had lost 2 games during the last weeks with terrible results (22:28 and 23:41). So for sure we hadīnt been very optimistic as well as we said before we donīt have to win this game, but we will have to win the forthcoming games against teams from the lower range of the league. Anyway, we started with the intention to keep the game open as long as possible. After 5 minutes our oponent lead by 2:0 but our defence worked very well while our offence did not have many ideas. After that the game changed completely. After 20 minutes we were in the lead by 7:2 and i wondered why the oponentīs coach did not take a time out, because they got absolutely nothing managed so far. Halftime result was 8:5 for us.
During our halftime conference we stated that we have to take very much care particularly for the next 10 minutes. We expected they will play their most effective option which means to be very quick in the so called "first wave" (that means to overrun us). They are very young and very very quick.
When the second half started we managed this period very well, slowly playing in the offence and returning very quick into the defence. This concept brought us into a lead of 13:6 after 40 minutes. Usually you never lose a game when your are in front with 7 goals. So we kept this in mind and played very secure. After 50 minutes our oponent got a little closer with 15:13. But then they opened their defence completely whenever we had 1 or 2 men down due to penalties, but they did not play this option very well. So we got through their defence very simply by solo actions and we could score goal after goal. At the end they broke down completely and we could score as we liked. Final result was 21:14 and we made 2 more very importent points to keep the league.
Afterwards a couple of very proud men had a few beer looking forward to the following games against 2 teams from the tables end (please let me know what the right english expression is for a team that is currently the last and the second last in the league. I donīt know if "table" is correct.)
Thanks and cheers,
(you asked for further information, so hereīs my post Very Happy )

btw: something concerning music: i can recommend the new albums of In Flames and Accept. Especially Accept i did not expect this good after such a long time of bullshit releases. Sounds like the old "Balls to the Wall" stuff.
In Flames became less death metal but therefore melodic as used to with a very clear and beautiful singing Anders Friden. So this one is no longer recommended to the black metal army, but to all lovers of melodic and excellently composed rock music (no good comparisson but that is what comes to my mind right now: old school Metallica meets Thin Lizzy - could become an all time classic Very Happy )
Check out and enjoy - if you like.

Unfortunately we lost our last game by 27:29, but we had missed our MVP. And we had been laying back with 9 goals, So in the end we cannot complain. Next game on December 8th is relevant against the team on place 9 of 10. We are expected to be complete and if we are going to win it looks like we will not have any more probs until the end of season.
btw: There are two teams in the lead with each 10:2 points. They had won every game but... where does the two minus points come from??? Okay, our fault...

At least: we can win against every team that hasīnt lost a game before, but we have great problems against teams placed at the mid of the table. So what is the perspective now that there are no more undefeated teams...?

I will keep you informed.
If your are interested go to:

klick on: Hamburg

klick on: Bezirksliga Männer Gruppe 1
and look for Barmstedter MTV 3

There you can find all current results and the current table,
Sorry, there is no direct link (PHP method "POST", not "GET", so there is nothing to copy and paste, but i'm sure you will make it... Very Happy

btw: our other teams: BMTV1 plays Landesliga group1,
BMTV2 plays Bezirksliga Group2
BMTV4 plays Kreisklasse Group1.

Sometimes we are helping our other teams due to a lack of players. And sometimes this is of greát effort like last week when our "Ole" made 6 goals for our first team at a very relevant game against St. Pauli (sure you know this club from football). The final goal to win the match he made when the game had already ended, with a free throw, through a couple of defending hands. That was really spectacular. We wished he would do that while playing with us.
But it seems this action really pushed him, because in our last game we had lost (iīve already mentioned) he was the only one who made goals in the beginning. At least he made 12 or 13 goals instead of his average of 3 goals. So, what do we learn: send our MVPs to our first team and they will play like gods when they return... Very Happy
For our final game against Alstertal-Langenhorn (position 9 of 10 on table) all players will have been returned from holidays and business dates. So we hopefully kick'em ass at home. If you are interested you are welcome to share a beer with me and my mates afterwards... Very Happy
It is on December 8th and we are going o have our X-mas-party afterwards (at our new greek restaurant`s sponsor). Beds at my home are for free for Demon-Fans... Very Happy

Today we have lost the final game against a team from below by 23:25. It was the first time we played with the full team. But nobody did a good job, but many indivuidual faults. We still wonder how this could happen??? Looks like we have to learn a lot in this new league...

Win against the arch fiend!!!

Hey hello and welcome back to the handball struggle.
Today while the worldcup final took place(strange result while the danish obviously sold the game to Spain - Yes, i am sure there is corruption!!! There is no other explanation for the result... 35:18!! In a world cup final where the danish had been favorisized... we would not had lost higher!) we played against our arch fiend Elmshorn - our neighbour-town. We had lost the first game in season. And we both had got 6 points, struggling against losing class. After 30 minutes we "got the cat in the sack" (to speak in Trappatonieīs words) by 16:9. But then it turned out like it always does (the cat went out...). After 40 minutes it was just 20:19, beause our defence did not work very well and our offence went down to void. From this point everything just began new and we luckily made the 21. goal and had a run to 23:19. So, at the end we won by 25: 21. This means we rise from place 8 to 6 and won the direct competition against Elmshorn (first game in Elmshorn was 21:23). After a few disappointing results this was the first wave of hope to keep the class altough it took some of our new jerseys we wore today for the first time which had been torn into pieces... so you see this is no girlīs game :-).
So, at least, we took the major step this year: winning against Elmshorn (comparision: Dortmund - Schalke or ManU vs Man-City) Now it just matters to keep the class. Chances are well!

Cheers,

your Space Dog alias Doc Mayson

We are save after 15 of 16 games. After we had a run of 3 won games in a row we lost the last 3 ones. I had already written some more details but then obviously pressed a wrong key and everything was lost. So i keep it short before it happens once more.

Just to finish this topic: we had lost the last game by 19: 31 and ended up at place 7 of 9 which means we have kept the league and we are going on to struggle there again next year. In spite of the fact our MVP decided to stay at our first team next year it appears nearly to be impossible to keep this league again, but since iīve went back into the goal itīs partly up to me to save us there...
...not really (in case i could manage this i would not play in this league but earn money by playing handball Laughing )

Donīt mind, but keep on rokkkking
(Meanwhile i am working on my fourth record, which is going to be the first one in german language (my guitar teacher is wondering about my incredible high quality output in this frequency)) But itīs just for my own fun, so donīt mind. I am doing my very best... Smile

Sincerely,
your Space Dog alias "Doc Mayson"
