I am a regular reader of music mags , so when i bought last months classic rock i expected a review of unbroken but no.so this month it surely would have one ? no.this is forgiveable in general music mags but not one for rockmusic. maybe i should send this to classic rock instead.

The music press are only interested in one thing selling their mag.

Why would you expect them to run an interview about the new CD?

Bigger bands have management that write stuff for the mags every month to generate sales. Example a band like (www.deeexpus.com/) Dee Expus will send out hundreds of press releases every year and maybe one one or two will get printed. It depends on how deep is you pockets

Demon are no different, they properly have sent out free CDs with press releases but the music press have chosen not to use it this month.

You can spend 1,000s on stuff like this just to get printed in a mag hoping that it will turn into music sales to fund your next project.

More than a handful of live appearances a year may help.

Funny you should mention this rdd... deexpuss ..this band have just been out on tour with MARILLION wolves, manc academy, hmv forum etc proper gigs in front of good crowds..yet i bet most of the people on this forum or in the uk wouldnt have heard anything songwise or know if they are british ,so playing a handfull of gigs or touring does it really matter i bet if they had been in classic rock every month and on planet rock 5 times a day alot more of people would have heard them, the uk press are a funny bunch and allways have been but the rock mags in england are a mega way of profiling a band ,unfortunately uk radio stations tend to play safe ALRIGHT NOW, STONES, SPRINGSTEEN ,instead of upcoming bands or bands like DEMON this will never change sadly

However, I will bet you a pound to a pinch of donkey droppings that given the option of reviewing:

A) A modern, active band with a lot of management promotion behind them and

B) A band that is old, reverting back to their music of 1981, very in-active, has little self-promotion, and has a personnel turnover of (on average) one casualty every year and a half.

They will opt for A)
